Life Science Leader magazine’s chief editor Rob Wright has been invited to attend the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) closing bell ringing ceremony on Monday, September 8, 2014 as a guest of the executive leadership team of Catalent, a drug development, delivery and supply partner for drugs, biologics and consumer health products. Life Science Leader is owned by Jameson Publishing, which is located in Knowledge Park, Erie, PA. Wright joined the company as the magazine’s chief editor in 2010, after having spent 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Today he travels internationally meeting with and writing about pharmaceutical and biopharma executives.

The NYSE closing bell ringing ceremony is a crowning achievement for Catalent president and CEO John Chiminski, who has guided the company since 2009 — just two years after being divested from Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH) for being an “underperforming business.” Today, Catalent, which began trading on the NYSE on July 31, 2014 under the ticker symbol CTLT, employs approximately 8,500 people at nearly 30 facilities across five continents, generating $1.8 billion in annual revenue.

The opening and closing bells mark the beginning and ending of each trading day on a stock exchange. The ceremonies at the NYSE, the world’s largest stock exchange, take place at 11 Wall Street, Lower Manhattan, New York City, and serve as a platform to generate exposure for a company, make a news announcement, or celebrate corporate milestones. “Many consider the act of ringing the bells to be a symbol of a lifetime achievement,” says Wright. “I am honored to join John Chiminski and the Catalent ELT [executive leadership team] to celebrate this company landmark event.” Though the closing bell feed will begin at 3:59.45 p.m. ET, Wright will have the opportunity to meet with members of the Catalent ELT prior, as well as take a tour of the NYSE trading floor and media center.
