Fred Olds is a freelance writer whose road to writing was somewhat circuitous. Drafted into the Army at age 21, Fred flew helicopters in Vietnam and eventually attended the DOD Public Affairs School. While stationed with the 101st Air Assault Division he coordinated activities with national and regional media and assisted in publishing the post newspaper. After the Army he worked for Eli Lilly and Amgen for 27 years.  He earned a BA in english literature and an MBA at the Universities of Michigan, Kentucky, and Austin Peay.
