Current hot spots for clinical development in the field of GI include inflammatory bowl disease (such as Crohn's) and evacuation disorders (such as IBS). In an area that has not received much attention in the past decade - recent clinical research in these two areas has allowed new light to be shed on these disorders as well as the upcoming release of new drugs to provide relief to this patient population.
