Let’s not get into crystal balls, tarot cards, or whatever other devices or methods you can think of for “predicting” the future. Because the only person I can think of (and I may be dating myself here) who was 100 percent accurate in psychically divining unknown answers to unseen questions is Carnac the Magnificent. And were he alive, I doubt even Carnac could have predicted everything that has transpired because of this pandemic. That’s because 2020 was the year that everything changed, including this year’s annual CEO outlook article. Normally fully focused on the future, this year’s version contains some reflection, which seems appropriate in our new norm. After all, not only did so much change, but so much more was learned along the way.
