Robert Coughlin is the president and CEO of MassBio, a not-for-profit founded in 1985 that represents and provides services and support for the world’s leading life sciences supercluster. During the 2018 BIO International Convention and Conference in Boston, I had the opportunity to interview Coughlin at the BIO Buzz Center. He shares some of what his organization is doing regarding diversity and inclusion in the biopharmaceutical industry. For example, on January 10, 2017, MassBio sent an open letter to the biopharma community with guiding principles and a top-10 list of best practices for increasing gender diversity. The letter was signed by hundreds of industry executives. But his efforts didn’t stop there. Be sure to view the below short BIO 2018 Buzz Center video interview with Coughlin to learn more about what he and MassBio are doing to promote greater diversity and inclusion in the biopharmaceutical industry.
