IN 2017, SAQIB ISLAM FOUND HIMSELF FACING ONE OF THOSE PIVOTAL CAREER DECISIONS — LEAVE A GOOD JOB AT A GOOD COMPANY FOR THE CHANCE TO GROW A FLEDGLING STARTUP.

He was only a year into his job as chief business officer at Moderna, where he had come after serving three years at Alexion as EVP and chief strategy officer. “I became enamored with the entrepreneurial spirit of the pharma industry coupled with the opportunity to be involved with meaningful work with the potential to help so many,” he says. “But I also was looking for a company of my own to build.” So, the former investment banker turned biopharmaceutical executive decided to become a founding member of the executive team at SpringWorks Therapeutics.
