Repurposing a former auto manufacturing site into a modern training hub, Central Carolina Community College is expanding access to hands-on education aligned with the needs of a rapidly growing life sciences and manufacturing corridor. The E. Eugene Moore Manufacturing and Biotech Solutions Center introduces industry-informed lab environments, from mammalian cell culture to upstream bioprocessing and quality control, designed to mirror real-world workflows. With employer collaboration shaping everything from facility layout to curriculum, programs emphasize adaptable skillsets that extend beyond biomanufacturing into regulated industries like food and cosmetics. Co-developed training models, including partnerships with major employers, highlight how workforce development can anticipate future skills demands while opening broader career pathways.
