In pharma, “drug repurposing” (i.e., drug repositioning, profiling, re-tasking) isn’t a new concept. It’s well-known that this practice of identifying a new use for a drug that was previously intended for a different medical indication has great potential for combatting diseases for which there are limited or no treatments available.
