We all know most biotech ventures end in failure, but this does not make it any easier when you experience one, especially as a CEO. I founded the biopharmaceutical company ImmusanT in 2010, after a chance meeting with Dr. Bob Anderson, the physician scientist who devised an approach to suppressing the immune response to gluten, which is the protein responsible for celiac disease. Together, we envisioned leveraging his approach to cure celiac disease and subsequently apply the technology to treat conditions such as type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis.
