Speaker Bio: Michael Braun-Boghos

With over three decades of experience in medicinal product safety, Michael Braun-Boghos has made significant contributions to the field. He dedicated 13 years to the European PV headquarters of Fujisawa, later Astellas, where he led the Safety Data and Quality Management group. Transitioning to Relsys, the developer of the Argus software, Michael continued his impactful journey, which culminated in his role as a senior director in the safety strategy team at Oracle, following the Relsys acquisition in 2009. In this capacity, he plays a pivotal role in driving the product roadmap of the Oracle Safety One Platform, which includes Argus, Empirica, Safety One Intake, and Oracle Analytics.

Speaker Bio: Cheryl James

Cheryl James boasts over 15 years of senior-level experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in leveraging the Oracle Life Sciences suite, initially with AERS and now with Argus Safety. Serving as the Director of Safety Analytics for PharmaLex (formerly pharmasol), Cheryl has been instrumental in shaping the development of Argus components, notably contributing to the industry-leading rapidLIVE – PharmaLex's accelerated, pre-packaged implementation for Oracle Argus. Cheryl's journey in pharmacovigilance began in 2008 when she assumed the role of Director of Pharmacovigilance for pharmasol, following her tenure at Oracle as a Senior Life Sciences Consultant specializing in AERS. Prior to her corporate roles, Cheryl honed her interdisciplinary expertise at PPD, a global CRO, as a Principal Pharmacovigilance Scientist, where she worked across various Oracle applications and multiple drug safety systems. Cheryl's passion for drug safety ignited during her time in a research group at a leading medical center, catalyzing her career trajectory. She holds a BSc in Biology and Psychology from the University of Bristol.
