To Achieve Gender Parity in Biotech, Focus on Meaningful Impact

Although progress has been made in increasing diversity in biotech, we continue to fall short of a truly inclusive industry. Just look at gender diversity: While women typically make up about half of the workforce in biotech, they hold only 30% of executive positions and just 18% of board seats.
It’s not only a question of equality; it’s good business. Women also play an outsized role in healthcare; they represent the majority of caregivers and make 80% of healthcare decisions for our children. To effectively understand and serve this group, women must have higher representation in our employee bases.
