When we think about a healthy and productive organization, most of us picture a well-oiled machine that is constantly reaching milestones and sidestepping obstacles. However, a corporate team is a lot like a personal relationship: its success relies on navigating through moments of discomfort. It’s those moments of uncertainty that show the true character of a team, pushing members to develop innovative solutions and solidify trust to handle problems together. It’s simple for people to be their best and most productive selves when everything is coming up roses. However, when things are uncomfortable and immediate solutions aren’t obvious, true innovation is born.
