Addressing The Global Clinical Research Workforce
The present clinical trial workforce is struggling to match the demands of the workload, presenting a significant obstacle in the timely delivery of groundbreaking treatments to patients. Reportedly a self-inflicted issue, part of the staffing problem stems from two key challenges: first, a lack of awareness of clinical research as a profession, even after the publicity it gained during COVID-19 vaccine development; and second, the default requirement for a minimum length of experience – very often two years – in entry-level job descriptions.
In a webinar following up on a forum convened by the Association for Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP), and a related White Paper (https://acrpnet.org/barriers-to-bridges-addressing-the-urgent-need-for-a-d), speakers explore the workforce shortage in clinical research, its root causes, and ways to “turn barriers into bridges.”
Delve into how teams can better cultivate a diverse and well-prepared clinical research workforce.
