A Systematic Approach to Medically Unexplained Symptoms- This course offers evidence-based strategies for managing medically unexplained conditions. Review of the pathophysiological process of nociplastic pain will be followed by symptom-specific didactic sessions, case vignettes, clinical pearls, Q and A sessions, daily roundtable discussions and group problem-solving exercises. Communicate with Confidence- This optional interactive workshop equips you with concise, non-stigmatizing communication tools to build partnership and foster hope, even in time-limited visits. Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: *Differentiate between nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic pain mechanisms. *Evaluate postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. *Critique common patient-reported etiologies using current evidence bases to provide empathetic and scientifically accurate counseling. *Apply practical nonpharmacologic strategies for management of chronic pain, fatigue, orthostatic intolerance, and brain fog. *Identify treatment strategies for fibromyalgia and myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome. Intended Audience: This course is intended for general internists, internal medicine subspecialists, family medicine physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other primary healthcare professionals who practice in or have a special interest in treating medically complex patients.
