Life Science Leader magazine’s Chief Editor, Rob Wright, was invited to attend the NASDAQ opening bell ringing ceremony on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 as a guest of the executive leadership team of NeoStem, a leader in the emerging cellular therapy industry. Life Science Leader is owned by VertMarkets, which is located in Knowledge Park in Erie, PA. Wright joined the company as the magazine’s chief editor in 2010 after spending 17 years in the pharmaceutical industry. Today he travels internationally meeting with and writing about pharmaceutical and biopharma top executives.

The ceremony symbolizes the fact that NeoStem has met the listing criteria for the NASDAQ and will move its listing from NYSE MKT to the NASDAQ Capital Market  under its existing ticker symbol “NBS.” The opening and closing bells mark the beginning and ending of each trading day on a stock exchange. The ceremonies at the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York’s Times Square serve as a platform to generate exposure for a company, make a news announcement, or celebrate corporate milestones.

“Many consider the act of ringing the bells to be a symbol of a lifetime of achievement,” Wright says. “I am honored to join Robin Smith, M.D., chairman and CEO of NeoStem, as well as the other members of their executive leadership team, as they celebrate this company milestone.”

Wright intends to utilize social media to capture some of the experience via Twitter and his blog. If you want to follow Rob Wright on Twitter to see what he has to say about the experience, you can follow him @RfwrightLSL and look for tweets with hashtag #NASDAQ.
